Escape to
Discovery Sands

Coastal living designed for the curious and unhurried

Where the Gulf shapes the life you live

The Texas coast has long been a place of arrival. A horizon that promises something different, something slower, something real. Discovery Sands was founded on the belief that coastal living should do more than offer proximity to water. It should be organized around it. The surf, the bay, the wetlands—these are not amenities. They are the community's character.

Energy

Discovery Sands pulses with motion—surf, sail, swim, gather. The Gulf Coast is not a backdrop; it is an invitation. The community is alive with possibility.

Ease

Alongside its energy, Discovery Sands offers genuine rest—calm water, unhurried evenings. The kind of life where days feel full but never rushed.

Stewardship

The land came first. Discovery Sands is designed to work with the coast, not against it—preserving habitat, honoring ecology, and returning something to the place it calls home.

About the Developer

Blackard Companies' history with Galveston reaches back to the early 1990s, when the firm acquired the coastal portfolio of George P. Mitchell—the legendary Texas developer and oil and gas pioneer who founded The Woodlands. That acquisition began a decades-long relationship with the island, one defined as much by stewardship as by development.
